Isildur1 aka Viktor Blom - Bio
Viktor Blom is a professional poker player hailing from Sweden. Because Blom is so young, he is often underestimated by more experienced players and that is where he is able to use his overly aggressive playing style.
At age 18, Viktor Blom started playing online poker on a variety of sites around the world. Before he would turn 19 Viktor would be voted the rookie of the year in the Scandinavian Poker awards for 2008.
Blom is known for a playing style that many of the veterans of poker find reckless and juvenile. Large bet bluffs and reraise bluffs are all part of the playing style that he has perfected.
While playing in the online poker tournaments, Blom has raised small deposits to the millions within a very short period of time. This only adds to the mystic of this young player as he continues to rack chips and put notches on his winning belt.
There has been some mystery surrounding Viktor Blom and the screen names that he has used on the various poker sites. Many have said that the infamous Isildur1 of Full Tilt Poker is in fact Blom.
However, Blom has denied that he is Isildur1 and continues to play under various screen names. Still many professionals that frequent the site are convinced that Blom is Isildur1 because of the playing styles that seem to match.
In one of the first runs that Blom took on Full Tilt Poker, he matched with Tom Dwan aka Durrr. During this match-up he managed to relieve Durr of $3 million.
A later match put Blom against Patrik Antonius one of the greatest players on the large poker site. Antonius eventually took $2.5 million from Blom before the end of the match.
This hardly startled Blom who went on to battle several opponents at one time, including World Series Champion Phil Ivey. While Viktor did end up losing a large chunk of his bank roll to Ivey he still managed to gain against the 7 other major players he matched with at the time.
Despite his sometimes reckless playing style many of the greats of the game have stated that they expect to see Viktor Blom in the ranks of the best in poker. They also expect that he will be signed to a lucrative contract by one of the large poker rooms before long, putting him in the midst of the greatest players in poker history.
